UConn Teams with Wells Fargo Bank to Provide Employers with Neurodiversity Workshops

The University of Connecticut’s (UCONN) Center for Neurodiversity and Employment Innovation introduced free workshops for businesses about introducing neurodiversity in the workplace.
UCONN held the workshops on October 10, 2024 on its campus in Storrs, Connecticut. Wells Fargo provided UCONN with a $3.75 million dollar grant to provide these workshops to employers across the United States on neurodiversity initiatives. The three goals to the grant provided by Wells Fargo are:

Providing neurodiversity education and training.

Funding groundbreaking academic research study to capture much-needed metrics about the business outcomes of neurodiversity programs and to create standards for measuring success in this arena.

Working with universities, non-profits, and vocational rehab agencies nationwide to bring efficiency, programming, and education to their regions and better connect job seekers and inclusive employers within their local communities.
Wells Fargo became one of the first major employers in the nation to provide an employment program to cultivate neurodiverse talent. The relationship between UCONN and Wells Fargo is meant to combine the real world experience of Wells Fargo’s neurodiversity program and connect it with the academic research that UCONN is regarded for. This connection will help more employers in the United States provide neurodiversity programs that employ such individuals into meaningful careers.
